What is the best way to take history notes?

It depends on how the cl is set up. From when I was a student I usually would read a chapter or section & go back over & highlight important parts. Then when in cl when we'd discuss the topic, I'd take shorthand notes. Then the weekend before a test I'd make a study guide & break it down further or if a teacher provided them just fill in from my notes & highlighted section. For me repetition of seeing, writing, & saying the information aloud helped me remember. Everyone learns differently though.
