What if a person that sucked at snowboarding got a real nice board?

Im a girl. I've snowboarded for the past two seasons but im still not that good. I really want to get good this winter. I want to buy a board also but will it look stupid for someone who isn't very good to have a nice board? I don't want to look like a hypocrite or a snobby person on the mountain.
