Visiting Australia from Melbourne to Brisbane without Tasmania?

In a 13 days journey. Should I spend 3 days in Tasmania then 10 between Melbourne to Brisbane or I should ... somewhat avoid Tasmania as I might be able something similar on my road (Mel.-Bris.)? I will use a rental car and visit a lot in those 13 days.
